Road safety strategy announced
Older road users may be required to undergo eye tests to retain their driver's licence.
The new road safety strategy has been announced for this week, which will require drivers over 70 to take an eye test every three years.
The strategy will be released on Wednesday, with plans to improve safety conditions for road users in Britain.
In Scotland, there are calls to lower the drink drive limit as well as increase the fine for those not wearing a seatbelt in the car.
The measures were announced in August and are expected to be included in the strategy on Wednesday.
Sharron Huddleston lost her daughter Caitlin in a car crash in 2017 and has been campaigning for the Graduated Drivers Licence ever since.
Since the launch of Caitlin's Campaign, she has felt "let down" by the government since they rejected the scheme.
I spoke to Sharron in October about the long-awaited scheme: "It is very frustrating when the government come back with these answers, and what we're waiting for at the moment is the road safety strategy."
“We were hoping that it would be included in, but we are just waiting to see, but the government do keep telling us that they're not looking into implementing it,” Sharron says.
It is not yet confirmed if young drivers will be included in the strategy.
