What is licence to freedom about?

Deaths caused by car collisions are the second biggest cause of death for young people in the UK. The Graduated Driver's Licence scheme would put in place a set of restrictions in place to prevent young drivers from being at risk for car collisions.

This was rejected by the UK government earlier this year.. I want to follow the journey of those who are still campaigning to push the scheme forward. This feature is a chance for those to voice their opinion on the scheme.

 

In the UK, a 17-year-old is free to use the roads after passing their theory and provisional test. A great way for young people to gain independence. However, one in five drivers crashes within a year of passing. Many campaigners feel that risk certainly doesn't reap reward in this scenario.

Ultimately, the question of whether young people should give up their freedom to save lives.
